Mr. Thomas S. Dovi

Thomas S. Dovi, 74, returned to his heavenly home to walk with Jesus on January 24th, 2026, nearly three years after the love of his life made her journey to Heaven. His family will cherish the wonderful memories made through the years, as we all patiently wait to walk together again in God’s Kingdom. We know that Thomas and Diana are dancing happily in Heaven, together again. Thomas was born on February 16th, 1951, in Cortland, NY. A 1970 graduate of Cortland High School, Thomas married his high school sweetheart, Diana Catalano, in 1972. Together they walked in faith, devoted to each other, raising three children. Thomas was an owner and the Service Manager at Dovi Motors all his life, and even in his retirement he continued to help in any way he could at the dealership. Thomas was an amazing woodworker, creating priceless hand-made treasures for friends and family in his home workshop. He also used his craftsmanship skills to build homes for his family. Thomas was predeceased by his beloved wife, Diana, his parents, Anthony Sr. and Mary Ellen (Vormwald) Dovi, his father and mother-in-law, James and Linda Catalano, and his brother Joseph. Thomas leaves behind his immediate and large extended family. He will be deeply missed by his three children, Thomas, Joyel (Mark) Ecker, and Jenna (George) Chalsen; his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy, Mark T., Leah, Jack, Blake, and Richard. Thomas also leaves behind his sister and brothers, Patricia, Anthony Jr., Philip, Charles, and David, many nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. Calling hours will be Friday, January 30th, from 4:00pm – 7:00pm, at St Anthony’s Church on Pomeroy St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, January 31st, 2026, 10:00am, at St. Anthony’s Church, in Cortland. Interment will immediately follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
