Suzanne Charlene Stoddard
February 27, 1948 - April 27, 2012
Suzanne C. Stoddard of Cortland, NY went home to be with her Lord April 27, 2012. Most of her growing up years were spent in New Hartford, NY where she graduated in 1966. She worked for the Housing for the Elderly in Syracuse and was a staunch Orangeman fan. Most of her retirement years have been spent in Cortland with the exception of a year and a half spent in Hanover ,Ma with her surviving sister, Sandra Spataro. Suzanne was also surived by two nephews, Matthew and Mark Spataro, two grandnieces, Nicole and Brooke also of the southshore of Boston and brother in law Peter Spataro, who will all miss her involvement in their lives. She was the beloved daughter of her deceased parents, Marion and Edward Stoddard. She is also survived by her "grace"(step) mother Ellie Stoddard of N. Carolina, cousins Pat and Wally Johnson and their four children: Vicky Besler and her family, all of Cortland and the area, Valorie Lindsay and Scott Johnson and their respective families, and Rick Johnson; cousin Joseph Pape, "Uncle Mel" Evans and cousin Bonnie Dust--all those who fondly knew her as "Susie" as well as other extended family. She loved keeping abreast of family, even long distance, and prayed for them faithfully. Susie loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (Isaiah 26:19) and His creatures great and small, especially cats! She loved to sing and was a member of several church choirs over the years. Her family wishes to express gratitude to friends for cards and visits during her recent illness, her dear roommate Anna Christopher and also those in the medical profession at the Swing Unit at Cortland Regional Medical Center and Hospice for their exceptional care. Donations can be made in Susie's name to the Cortland hospital or to the local chapter of NYC S.N.A.P. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 3 PM May 19 at Faith Baptist Church, 1731 Route 13 North, Cortland,NY.
