Mr. James F. Menapace

January 7, 1959 - May 26, 2012

James (Jim) passed away suddenly at his home in South Windsor, Connecticut where he lived for many years. Jim was born on January 7, 1959 in Cortland, NY. He was 53 years old. He graduated from St. Mary's school and Cortland High School, and then went on and graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and received his Bachelor of Science, majoring in Photography. He was employed by Konica Minolta for over 25 years. He was Manager of Servicing for many years and then went on to teach and develop course materials on their advanced products. He attended St. Francis of Assisi church in South Windsor and was active in the Men's club, the Boy Scouts and the Lions club. He loved working with the boy scouts and was so proud that both his sons became Eagle Scouts. It was one of his dreams. James loved his family. He loved boating and fishing and was always trying to catch the "big one" at Skaneateles Lake. He was always there for any family gathering. He loved to see his nieces and nephews and loved to play with them. He was a kid at heart. He is survived by his two sons, Nicholas and Christopher Menapace (South Windsor, CT) , his parents Richard and Elaine (Cortland, NY) , brother Michael and his wife Beverly (Holliston, MA), his brother Thomas (Natick, MA), his sister Rebecca Blake and her husband Larry (Framingham, MA), nephews David Menapace and Tyler Blake; nieces Melissa Menapace and Samantha Blake. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Lucian Urbaniak presiding. Prayers of committal will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Cortland, N.Y. the family will be present to receive friends on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. in the Chapel of Riccardi Funeral Home 69 N. Main St., Cortland, N.Y. 13045. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's School or the American Heart Association.
