Wallace John Kampney II, 69, of Cortland passed away at his home on Wednesday August 6, 2014. Born July 2, 1945 in Cortland, Jack was the son of Wallace John Kampney, Sr. and Helen Kolosky. Jack was an area resident and a graduate of Syracuse University where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. He was a well known local artist, and will be remembered as a comedian and for his vivacious personality. He is survived by his wife, April Kampney and children, Katelin Kampney of Cortland, Lisa Carberry of Dryden and Timothy Carberry of Cortland, two sisters; Carole Skinner of Salem, N. Carolina and Cheri Popik of Boca Raton, Florida., two grandchildren, Harleigh Vestal and McKenna Carberry and several nieces and a nephew. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Zareski serving as celebrant. The family will be present to receive friends on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. in the Chapel of Riccardi Funeral Home 69 N. Main St., Cortland, N.Y.
